15.5 Chain Mode

The Pattern Change Chain Mode allows you to quickly chain multiple Pattern Changes in a row. In other words, you can pre-select an unlimited amount of upcoming Pattern Changes, and they will be executed in the exact order (and type) that you have defined.

Other than a Song Arrangement, a pattern chain is only temporary. It is not saved anywhere, and once it has been played through, or if you press stop, the chain will no longer be available.

With the Chain Mode enabled, simply tap the Slots in the order (and Pattern Change type) you want them to be executed. Note that you can create chains while the sequencer is running or in stopped state.

Chains are very powerful in a live situation, if you want to enter a quick Sequence to give you time to tweak Parameters on other screens while the pre-selected Pattern Slots (Changes) get executed.

Note:

Chains can be created on-the-fly in all situations you can think of, even while being in Song Mode and a Song Arrangement is currently playing.

Examples:

• Custom intro for s song

• Solo part in the middle of a song

• Just jam live without having to keep the pattern set in mind while tweaking parameters

• Tap in a quick song arrangement as a chain, and then press record and play in song mode to record the chain as song arrangement
