Incoming MIDI Clock signals often have a “jitter” – tiny timing variations caused by computers or USB cables that make your tempo jump around (e.g., 120.0 > 120.4 > 119.7).
Lower (Responsive):
Follows tempo changes instantly but may result in a “fluttering” or unstable BPM.
Higher (Stable):
Provides a rock-solid temp by ignoring minor timing errors, but takes longer to catch up if the master tempo changes.
