24.2.5 Connect MIDI Hardware over Bluetooth LE (G-Stomper as Host)

To use MIDI over Bluetooth LE, Android 6.x or higher is required.

In order to use a Bluetooth LE MIDI device with the G-Stomper apps, you must first pair/connect it in one of the supported methods.

Connect a MIDI device in the G-Stomper MIDI Settings

Use the app internal BLE scanner and connect a MIDI device with the G-Stomper session. The connection will be terminated when the G-Stomper session ends.

Pair a MIDI device in the Android Bluetooth Settings

Use the Android Bluetooth Settings to pair a MIDI device with the Android device. A paired BLE MIDI device remains paired until you tell the Android OS to un-pair (forget) it again.

Most BLE MIDI hardware can be hooked up with both methods. But there are some devices, which will only work with one of the mentioned methods.

Here are a few examples:

Yamaha UD-BT01/MD-BT01

Both methods

AKAI LPD8/LPK25 Wireless

G-Stomper MIDI Settings only

Livid Minim

Android 8.x and higher: Both Methods
