How to make your music sound better

These are the things I wish I would have known earlier

Layer samples, especially with kicks layering is very important

Add reverb to most of your sounds, even a little touch goes a long way

With most samples in the drum machine change the pitch and cut

Add a high pass filter to the sounds you want to stand out, especially hats and synth leads

Add sound effects, risers, faders

Using percussion gives you an edge over most producers since most overlook it

Add sub basses, bass holds the music together
