Hi me again ... forgive me if a similar question has already been asked ...

I am about to upgrade my current primary G-Stomper Android 10 Tablet to an Android 15 Tablet.
(about time )

Over time I have acquired a lot of the Sample packs avaliable to G-Stomper.

I have done tests and have been able to get my Pattern Sets (only that folder for test) to my Phone which is Android 16 via a memory stick using CX-File-Explorer.

What is the best option/practice to get all my purchased sound sets and samples etc. to the new Tablet?

I could just re-download all those packs from Play Store onto new Tablet (this seems rather tedious) ... although I am in no rush.

...or just copy the folders and files on the older Tablet being replaced (luckily Android 10) onto a memory stick and copy to new Tablet to the correct storage location.
- to do this i see it could be possible from your latest update post about storage locations that this can be done within latest G-Stomper.

I have set up my new Android 15 tablet and as a quick test have used a memory stick to transfer my Patternsets folder from old Tablet to the G-Stomper folder on new Tablet using Cx-File-Explorer.

This worked fine and all my Patternsets are on new tablet - and are opening in G-Stomper perfectly.

But my question above still holds - best practice to move all other folders (samplepacks, synthpresets ect.) in order to transfer all my purchased sound packages to the new Tablet ?

Congratulations to your new tablet

There are a few ways to transfer data from one device to another.

Since version 5.9.3.2, a dedicated system files picker with a special setup is provided at: main menu / imp / File Manager (copy/move/...).

It lets you copy files to wherever you want on the device, including cloud storage like Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
Note that you can also copy entire folders or single or multiple files out of the sample pack apps that way, as every sample pack appears as its own storage in the hamburger menu of the file picker.
I'm not sure about USB stick, though.
So, generally, you do not need CX File Manager anymore. But of course, you can still using. It's the best of its kind.

Using a cloud storage for the transfer is the most convenient way if you have no PC available.

With a PC, the easiest way is to simply hook up your device to the PC using USB, and then first copy the data from the device to the PC.
Afterwards hook up the new device, and copy the data from PC to the new device.

The files on your device are located at: "/sdcard/Android/data/<app-packagename>/files/gstomper"
In case you access the device files on your PC via USB, it's: "<your-device-name>/Android/data/<app-packagename>/files/gstomper"

The <app-packagename> is unique for each app:

G-Stomper Studio = com.planeth.gstomper
G-Stomper Studio DEMO = com.planeth.gstomperdemo
G-Stomper Producer = com.planeth.gstomperproducer
G-Stomper Producer DEMO = com.planeth.gstomperproducerdemo
G-Stomper Rhythm = com.planeth.rhythm

G-Stomper VA-Beast (standalone) DEMO = com.planeth.vabeastdemo

One more point regarding G-Stomper Sample packs:
If you use the files from the Sample packs directly from the pack app's storage, all you have to do is to install the sample pack apps on your new device, and you'll have it right there.

Well now I am flabbergasted...

The new tablet is doing strange stuff when opening G-Stomper ...

It may have started doing this before moving all files from old tablet - just after the first test of copying Paytern Sets to new Tab.... hmmm....

When I open G-Stomper Studio on new Tablet strange random metronome type clicks come out of speakers.
It goes away after a few attempts at closing and reopening G-Stomper...
I also note that even after closing G-Stomper when I press the Active App button on botton LHS of android G-Stomper is showing as open ... (I think this is what my Android 10 tab did too - although no strange metronome sounds experienced with that Tablet)
If I close all active apps usually G-Stomper will then open without the metronome sounds ....

This is all a little strange ... I will do further tests (tomorrow) - to try see if I can give more clues to this situation ...
Have had a busy weekend and am too exhausted to try fault find this right now.

I am mentioning now as maybe this behavior is something you are aware of ...

What audio system are you using?
As a first step, I recommend to try another one, e.g., change from AAudio to AudioTrackN at setup / aud / audio system

Awesome. I'm glad this solved the clicking issue. Since AAudio is much closer to the hardware, it can occur that it doesn't perform well on some devices. Theoretically, you could also try to keep AAudio, but set the latency level to "high". Eventually, this would work as well.

But with AudioTrackN, you should have similar latency times as with AAudio. Therefore, I'd keep it.

Eventually, I'll add that case to the FAQs. I'm sure you're not the only one with that problem.
