How to load your own samples in the G-Stomper apps

Postby planet-h » Sat Feb 22, 2025 3:17 pm

There are 2 modules where you can load samples in the G-Stomper app family.
Note that not all apps provide both instruments.

Drum Sampler (G-Stomper Studio, G-Stomper Rhythm):

  • On the Sampler Drum Machine screen, long press (press and hold) one of the track buttons (e.g. T01)
  • Select the LOAD tab
  • To load from the app’s private storage (recommended), simply press “User Sample”.
  • Note that in this case you first have to copy your samples to the private storage (see How to access the private G-Stomper folders on Android 13 or higher)
  • The private sample folder for G-Stomper Studio is "/sdcard/Android/data/com.planeth.gstomper/files/gstomper/usersamples "
  • To load from the shared device storage, long press (press and hold) “User Sample”. This will open the system file picker.

Drum Sampler (G-Stomper Producer):

  • On the Sampler Drum Machine screen, select the track for which you want to load a sample, and then press the track menu in the left side bar.

VA-Beast Synth in PCM mode (G-Stomper Studio, G-Stomper Producer, G-Stomper VA-Beast standalone):

  • On the VA-Beast Synthesizer screen, find the OSC1 section.
  • Tap through the oscillator waveforms until you reach PCM
  • Press “PCM setup” right underneath
  • In the PCM setup, press “Sample Menu”
  • To load from the app’s private storage (recommended), simply press “User Sample”.
  • Note that in this case you first have to copy your samples to the private storage (see How to access the private G-Stomper folders on Android 13 or higher)
  • The private sample folder for G-Stomper Studio is "/sdcard/Android/data/com.planeth.gstomper/files/gstomper/usersamples"
  • To load from the shared device storage, long press (press and hold) “User Sample”. This will open the system file picker.
  • To add more samples to other keys (if required), use the right pointing arrow to open another sample slot. Then start over with “Sample Menu”.
