Bak. Files ... Back up?

Postby TIXE DOPE » Fri Sep 30, 2016 11:46 pm

How do we access the bak. files if we have the feature enabled and we saved over an already saved song set and pattern. is it possible to bring them back?

A .BAK files is simply a copy of the previously saved file (e.g. a pattern set).
This means you have always one previous version backed up.

To access a .BAK file, simply rename it in use of a file manager (in fact remove the .BAK extension), so that it has its original file extension (e.g. .gsse).
Once renamed, you can use it as a normal G-Stomper file (a pattern set in this example).

ES File Explorer is a good choice for renaming files on your storage:

I want to back up all of gstomper files to cloud in case of system failure, can I back up the full gstomper folder and its sub folders in one go using a file manager or do I need to back up stuff ( ie expoert / patterns ) seperatly ? I've just learnt a lesson as my tablet battery failed , a full strip down to replace battery and luckily all asembaled and working , now to back up gstomper ,.

You can simply copy the gstomper folder structure, that's all you need.

A backup app is only required if you want to backup the app settings as well.
