G stomper with midi hub

Postby Pipi123 » Thu Jul 02, 2020 7:46 am

Hi team
I’m new on the app and need a hand to setup the midi connection correctly
I have an Android running g stomper,
Midi card with midi in out and thru( Iring2) connected with otg cable to the tablet and a usb hub with a midi controller (korg nano)
From Iring 2 midi in to a midi hub wich I have connected my drum machine ,korg micro brute and korg mini bass
The midi out is coming from my sound card Roland mx1 with is sync to my Roland tr8
I also manage all the channel thru ableton wich has the link function

I start my tr8 as my master and all my device are midi sync
I want to use the app to be midi slave of the drum machine and to sent pattern sequence to another synth for example the korg bass line
Also with the korg nano I want to map the fader of the mixer of the app

Does the app recognised every single midi device (bass line and synth) or get confused with all the midi signal

Which is the easy way to setup the app for this live setup

The more traffic you have on your MIDI network the higher the chance for it getting unstable.
However, my recommendation is to turn off everything you do not need.
So if MIDI clock is everything you want to get into G-Stomper, then just turn all other event types off in the G-Stomper settings.
On the other hand you can easily send out MIDI Notes and CC while not listening to them in G-Stomper.
So in fact, G-Stomper can be synced by the incoming clock, and send out MIDI notes and CC.

Btw., using G-Stomper as MIDI clock master will be more stable than using it as slave.

Hope that helps getting it done.
