LIVE version can use Gstomper studio no problem.
INSTALLED (ROOT) version always complain storage access.
Tried 8.1 and 9.0 versions, with fat32, ext4, and currently ntfs.

Activated developer option to always allow external storage.

Please help...

I does also work withan old apk.. But has license issues..

Now with Blissos android 9 on ext4..same

Can you be a bit more specific in what you mean with "always complain storage access"?
You mean it cannot access the storage and the app does cannot start because of that?
If so, then this is a bug in the android-x86.org OS.

Try the 7.x version instead. On Android 7.x and lower, G-Stomper will request the permission correctly.

This won't help as the problem is not based on the permission, it's based on an Operating System bug.

This is definitely an Operating System bug, as G-Stomper does not even try to access the shared storage on Android 8 or higher.

I don't know, if the same bug is in 7.x. But that is irrelevant, as in Android 7.x, G-Stomper officially uses the shared storage and therefore properly requests the storage permission. Ergo, there won't be a problem accessing the storage on Android 7.x, with or without the Android-x86 bug.

Blissos and Android-x86 both are running live from the liveCD, with option to install, which allows to save data and changes to os.

Sorry, I still don't know what liveCD is.

OK, I did some quick research.
So what you're basically saying is that both Android Operating Systems run directly from CD, something that is called "liveCD".

For the case that this is correct:
You cannot compare the way you start an operating system (at all) with the way you star an Android app within that Operating system. These two processes have technically nothing in common.
The Operating System has of course access to its allocated storage.
But that does not automatically mean that the OS grants this access to apps that are started in its run-time.

Actually, G-Stomper on Android 8.0 or higher does not even try to access the shared external storage (don't mind about the name, it's the internal storage, but shared/external is its official name by Google).
The only storage G-Stomper demands is the storage in its private, isolated sandbox. And this doesn't require any permission, as this storage is owned by the app itself.
The fact that the OS won't let G-Stomper access its own private storage makes it pretty clear that this is an OS bug, as this is a core functionality of the Android OS.

I d just need to create a storage shared/external, i think, I have root access ! So far no answer from that forum post of blissOS...
I can wait a bit before retrying with Android 7. For now the phone is enough, but Gstomper on 13 inches landscape or vertical layout, Amazing.

Maybe, yes. But it's more likely that there actually is shared storage, and only the way the OS manages the access to it is bugged. G-Stomper (on Android 8.0 or higher) use only a special potion of the shared storage, which (by specification) does not need any permission. There are only two possible reasons why G-Stomper cannot access the storage.
1. What you said.... there simply is no such storage, but I'd say that's rather unlikely.
2. There is shared storage, but the OS does not allow G-Stomper to access its own, private folders.

Fully agree, bigger screens definitely rock!
Have you ever considered using a Chromebook?
My experience is that Chromebooks have a fantastic performance.
