Pattern Set... Play mode - LOCK mode.

Postby riche » Thu Mar 15, 2018 11:28 am

I was a bit worried by the name of this setting = LOCK
Thought you would not be able to change settings (like mutes etc)... Whew.... It allows tweaks... Then when going back to pattern later it it as per original saved settings...
AMAZING... This is now my Roland MC505 operates...
... Many thanks...
Yesterday was my birthday and this upgrade was my favorite present :)

My pleasure, riche. Congratulations to your birthday:)

Yes, naming features is always a tricky task.
LOCK was chosen as this is what it actually does with patterns, it "locks" them.
Initially it was planned to name it "Lock Patterns", but that simply didn't fit into the available space on the button.
And since "Chain" is right beside it, "Lock" was a good alternative.
You could also say, it "locks" the pattern set, but that's not exactly true, as it just locks the particular patterns.
In fact the final solution locks only the currently active pattern, which saves a lot over RAM..

I've added a manual page that explains all the details (even though there's not that much to say about it ;) ).
