[FIXED in 5.0] Crash when USB MIDI interface connected Galaxy Tab E
Posted: Fri Dec 25, 2015 6:08 pm
Hello,
I have a brand new Galaxy Tab E with the latest software updates (SM-T560NU, Android 5.1.1). I'm trying to connect it to my full-size Korg electric piano through a USB OTG adapter and a USB to MIDI DIN in/out cable.
When I connect the OTG+MIDI cables to the tablet, I get promoted by the OS to open G-Stomper Studio. But as soon as G-Stomper finishes loading, it crashes.
If I first start G-Stomper Studio and then connect the MIDI interface, G-Stomper crashes when I plug in the cables.
The OTG connector is separately a powered one as you suggest in the MIDI device compatibility section of your website. I have verified that the MIDI adapter powers on when the OTG cable is plugged into a power supply, even when not connected to the tablet.
The powered OTG cable is this one, by Afunta: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00EAM8A5 ... UTF8&psc=1
The USB to MIDI DIN cable is this one, made by VicTsing: https://www.amazon.ca/gp/aw/d/B00EAM8A5 ... UTF8&psc=1
Final note: when I use the same OTG+MIDI cables with my LG Nexus 5 phone, G-Stomper MIDI connectivity works perfectly. The piano keyboard controls the VA-Beast synth as expected.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
