Delay-Artifacts on Volume off
Delay-Artifacts on Volume off
If I define a delay insert effect in the mixer on some track (Drum Sampler or VA-Beast) in G-Stomper Studio and then turn the channel volume all the way down (but without muting or solo-off), some channel's sound artifacts will still pass through, unless the delay mix is set to dry. This is obviously unfortunate because I don't mute the channels on my MIDI keyboard, but rather turn the volume off.
Re: Delay-Artifacts on Volume off
Thanks for the report, Neolex.
Are you using only delays on these channels?
Or also other fx in addition?
The best would be if you could send me a pattern or pattern set with that problem by mail.

Re: Delay-Artifacts on Volume off
Hi planet-h,
sorry, I haven't seen your reply.
In some patterns I also use an Equalizer in addition, but in others not. It also happened with only the FX INS on a channel.
To what email address shall I send the pattern?
Best regards

Re: Delay-Artifacts on Volume off
Now I have found gstomper(at)planet-h(dot)com. I will mail you a pattern...
Re: Delay-Artifacts on Volume off
I sent an example pattern by email, but I'm not sure now, if the volume of T04 in that example is all the way down (off). I left the volume a bit open, because the artifact that way doesn't appear. But on sequencer stop it appears anyway.

Hi neolex
Great, thanks a lot for sending an example. I got your mail.
Will check it later today.

Re: Delay-Artifacts on Volume off
Hi Neolex
You are indeed right. Thank you very much for the report.
Looks like the ins fx out signal getd mixed into the channel output after the volume slider, which is surely wrong. Ins fx out must come back to the mix before the volume and pan slider.
Here is how it's meant to be:
https://www.planet-h.com/gstomper/docs/ ... part16.htm
And here with a bit more detail:
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=589&p=2042#p2046
Btw. It happens with all ins effect types. It's just most noticeable with the delays.
It's definitely a bug. I'll take care of it.

Re: Delay-Artifacts on Volume off
Hi Neolex
Good news. The bug was found. The fix goes into the next release.
Was actually a legacy bug in the code.
Thanks again for your report and for helping out with an example pattern.

Re: Delay-Artifacts on Volume off
Hi Neolex
The delay artefact bugfix is now, together with other improvements, in open beta on the play store. In the case you opted in for beta you can check it out already.
However, it will take max 2 weeks until it'll come to production.
Thanks again for your report and for the precise explanation of the issue.
