The Standalone Version of the VA-Beast Synthesizer is getting closer and closer to beta state.
Here is the latest screenshot, showing the portrait mode.
The portrait mode provides a dedicated piano roll view with 2 independent octaves to play with.
Furthermore the Synth supports external midi input devices, in the first release it'll be just Note on/off, velocity, pitchbend and modWheel, but more will follow;)

Sweet! So will we be able to plug in external midi keyboards!? Thats Awesome! :D
Will it require an extra app? (Something like Audio Extreme's USB Audio Recorder Pro?)

No, you just have to plug it in, that's all ;) it's all included within the G-Stomper VA-Beast App. Of course your Android device must support USB Host Mode, but the newer ones will (my 2 year old galaxy nexus works without problems).
The only thing you need is an USB 2.0 A Female to Micro B Male Adapter Cable Micro USB Host Mode OTG Cable and, if you want to connect equipment with traditional midi connectors, an USB 2.0 MIDI Interface Cable. You can check it out very soon.
Btw, do you want to join the BETA?
If you meet the following requirements and you're interested, just let me know.
- Minimum Android Version: 3.1
- You must be a Google Play User with a Google Play supported device. The BETA is bound to the google licensing and is working only on Google Play enabled devices.

The AD says "For Samsung Galaxy". Do you know if that setup works on all other tablets or just a limited set of tablets?

I would say it's just depending on your device connector. If your device has a micro usb connector it'll work.
I just bought a cable like that, not exactly the same, the brand is energizer, like the batteries, and it works without problems on all my devices with micro usb connector.

That is sensational!!! I have a Samsung Galaxy SII - I know it supports OTG, and i've already got a generic OTG Cable. I've got a 49key keyboard, (but have just picked up a little portable Akai MPK Mini for $75 from Amazon-US.. it's on it's way to me..(Still on sale if anyones interested! http://goo.gl/WDiHXe ) So i'll be set! :D
Sure Thing, i'd love to join the Beta!
I'm running the stock Samsung 4.1, and am an avid user of the Google ecosystem 8-)

@dauex - Yeah PlanetH is right, if you're device has a Micro USB then this cable will fit! (Like he also said earlier, your device must be able to support 'USB Host Mode' for this to work) - What's the device u've got?

This is the best news since i first heard that G-Stomper was getting a Synth!
