Hi!

I recorded my electric guitar without any amplifier, so I have a kind of clean electric guitar sound. Now I want to make a nice distorsion effect. I tried lot of things, but I'm not really satisfied with the result. Any ideas??

There are 3 effect types in G-Stomper that fit very well for guitar sounds.
Essential for getting good results is the input level. You can control it using the gain slider, but it's also important to look at the signal itself (the one you pass through the effect). If the input signal is very loud, then you should use a pretty low gain setting. If the input signal is not loud enough, then it might occur that the result won't be really distorted. To get a signal normalized to max volume (-0dB), you can either load it to the audio editor and then render the normalization into the file, or you can normalize the loaded sample on the fly using the Normalize (NORM) button on the main drum machine view.

Also suitable might be to chain a bit of reverb after the overdrive.

Overdrive Effect with tube characteristics.
Parameter 1: Gain (0..100)
Parameter 2: Level (0..100)
Parameter 3: Amp Model (A-01, A-02)
Parameter 4: -

Overdrive II

Overdrive Effect with variable hardness.
With a low hardness value you’ll get a soft overdrive effect.
As higher the hardness value as more the output gets distortion characteristics.
Parameter 1: Gain (0..100)
Parameter 2: Level (0..100)
Parameter 3: Hardness (0..100)
Parameter 4: -

Saturation

Saturation Effect with tape characteristics.
Parameter 1: Gain (0..100)
Parameter 2: Level (0..100)
Parameter 3: Hardness (0..100)
Parameter 4: -

Thank you. These are the effects I tried before. It works fine but i expect too much I guess.

What I can offer is to tune the effect setup for you.
Just save one of the patterns with the guitar part(s) and send them over by mail.
The complete pattern set would be probably too large for an email.

Ideally give me a short description how do you want it to sound like (and audio example would be perfect).
Then I tune the effect setup for you and send the pattern back afterwards.
